HVS has changed it's name to JT's Community Services.  This decision is tied in with the change in charitable status, the new name honours our fallen Chairman, Jack Tarr (JT).

We are looking for a logo for JT's.  This competition to design our new logo is open to anyone, if we use your logo you will receive a £25 voucher at Whister's Fish and Chips Hayling. Competition ends 31/10/20

Invisible Chips

Whistler's Fish and Chips Hayling have kindly added Invisble Chips to their menu.  When you order your dinner, you can now order a portion of invisible chips for £2.  That £2 will come directly to JT's (Formerly HVS) to support our charity, with a focus on our minibus.  Please note that you will not receive anything for your £2 donation, other than the satisfaction of helping us to help the community.

June Challenge - Bush Tucker

Lin Green, Mavis McDonnell and Dwayne McKenzie completed their own bush tucker trial to raise funds for the minibus which has now been purchased and due to be with us in September (thanks to HVR).  This challenge took place on 18th June at the Hayling Health Centre. Kara Saunders was our cook and chief tester (see photo). We raised £540, thank you Hayling. You can see the video footage on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/255854291500789/?ref=share) or Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/p/CApo_fVHsaY/?igshid=1f5mt7sxlx8uq).

Dunkin Donut!

Never a dull moment at Hayling Voluntary Services (HVS).  One of our customers dared Lin Green to walk into the sea fully clothed and film it!  He said he would donate £200 to the Huffers and Puffers group if she did this.  This group provides pulmonary (lung) maintenance for people with lung conditions.  During the lock down they have been singing, via Zoom (online) with an HVS funded British Lung Foundation trained singing coach. Lin decided to raise the stakes and put a shout out on the HVS Facebook group, stating she would only do this if she could raise £500, she actually raised £852. See Facebook page or Instagram for proof.

Lin Green Winner!

Thanks to Whistler's Fine Fish and Chips.  In lieu of their usual charity fund raising event on St. George's day, they asked for nominations for local key workers.  Thanks to all you wonderful people who nominated  Lin Green for her 'dedication and hard work in providing essential support to Hayling island's most vulnerable and elderly and even more so in this time of crisis.'  Lin has been rewarded with a fish and chip supper which in her usual pay-it-forward selfless fashion has requested that it be given to 2 of her volunteers who are home alone self isolating and 2 NHS workers that work alongside HVS.

Meals on Wheels

HVS launched meals on wheels on 5th April 2020 for the duration of the lock down period.  (Finished 5th July).

Please note this service is no longer being operated by HVS.  The Cook, Penny Turner, has continued this service privately.

Cards 4 Occasions
